Dudley Stephen Blanchard

Blanchard, Dudley001Dudley Stephen Blanchard, 86, of Santa Fe, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at his home. He was born May 12, 1928 in Beaumont, TX, parents John and Elsie Mills Blanchard.
Mr. Blanchard was a veteran of WWII and worked as an operator for American Oil Co. until his retirement. After retirement he loved working on his land, tending to his cows and building/mending fences. He was a member of Santa Fe Baptist Church and was a 50 year member of the Texas City Masonic Lodge #1118.
He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Lois Slawson and 1 brother, John Blanchard.

Survivors include his wife who was the love of his life for 64 years, Betty Jean Blanchard, 2 daughters, Susan G. Hinson and Judy J. Garza and husband Lewis, 3 sons, Stephen J. Blanchard, Curtis D. Blanchard and Larry W. Blanchard and wife Donna, 1 sister, Dorothy Splawn, 2 brothers, Robert Blanchard and James Blanchard.
He was a grandfather and a great grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Blake Blanchard, Kyle Williams, Matthew Hinson, Casey Hinson, Cody Blanchard and David Garza
The family would like to thank Dr. Piazza and AMED Hospice for their exceptional care during his illness.

Visitation will be Wednesday August 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 14, at 10:00 am at Crowder Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Galveston Memorial Park, Hitchcock, Texas.
