Douglas Raymond Vavra

Douglas Raymond Vavra, Jr. 58 of La Marque, TX passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Clear Lake Vavra  Douglas Raymond 12-2015Regional Hospital after a sudden traumatic head injury.
Raymond was born December 2, 1957 in Galveston County to Pauline Dooley Ausmus and Douglas Raymond Vavra, Sr. He lived most of his life in La Marque in his family home in the neighborhood he grew up in. Raymond had a difficult life which included many health related incidents but he was stronger than most and always found a way to get through it. He loved to help anyone with anything, very generous and liked to stay busy. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and wanted everything to be Dallas blue including his home, clothes and shoes. He also enjoyed fishing; going to the movies, hanging out with his dog Sugar and of course going out to eat…he could eat like no other.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father and his sister, Martha (Roché) Bryan.
Raymond is survived by his dog Sugar, who was his friend and protector. His siblings Paul Roché of Silsbee, TX; Terry Wallace of Nashua,NH; Amber (Wallace) Long of La Marque, TX; Dennis Wallace and Wife Robin of La Marque, TX and Donny Ausmus & Sherma Harrington of La Marque; Steve Rice of La Marque, Tx; Aunt Sarah and Uncle Chris Guerrera of La Marque, TX; nieces and nephews: Cheri Bryan of Angleton, TX; Amanda (Bryan) Cripe and husband Jake of New Orleans, La; Charlene (Long) Lozano and husband Richie of La Marque, TX; Jennifer Long of La Marque, TX; Jerry Wallace and wife Brittany of La Marque, TX; Victoria Evans of College Station, TX and Marian Evans of Santa Fe, TX. Great nieces and nephews: Haley Hazlett, Cory Thrash, Tim Staley, Jordan Wallace, Christopher Wallace, Navali Second and Gabriel Nallie. Special friends Leon Filidei, wife Robin and Roger.
There will be a celebration of life in his honor hosted by the family at a later date.
