Donald “Donny” Delano Stidham Jr.
Donald “Donny” Delano Stidham Jr., 70, was born on July 27, 1955, in Galveston, Texas, to Donald and Shirley Stidham. He was called home on June 2, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Donny dedicated 42 years of service to BNSF Railroad as a conductor. In November of 2019, he proudly retired and was finally able to say, “Take this job and shove it.” Retirement marked the beginning of one of the happiest chapters of his life, giving him the opportunity to spend more time with the people he loved most his family.
Throughout his life, Donny found joy in the simple things that made life special. He loved classic cars and attending car shows, spending time at the beach, visiting the casino, and traveling with his beloved wife Cindy in their trailer. He was especially known for his barbecue, and anyone lucky enough to taste it knew he made the best brisket around. Donny also had a remarkable green thumb and could grow just about anything. He often shared his gardening wisdom with a smile by saying, “Just stick it in the dirt and it’ll grow.”
More than anything, Donny will be remembered for the love he had for his family, his sense of humor, his stories, and the way he made everyone around him feel at home.
Donny was welcomed home by his father, Donald Stidham; his sister, Julie; and many other beloved family members and friends.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 50 years, Cindy; daughter Ashley and husband Jon, and daughter Erin and husband Tony; grandchildren Brandon, Shelby, Alison, and Layla; his mother, Shirley; sister Terri and husband Ricky; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
In his honor, there will be a visitation on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. A celebration of life will follow at 3:00pm.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, the memories, laughter, and love Donny shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
