Donald “Don” Eugene Hamil
Donald “Don” Eugene Hamil, of League City, TX, passed away
peacefully on June 17, 2026, at the age of 86.
He was born on November 28, 1939, in Freer, TX, to C.M. and Vivian (Truesdell) Hamil. Don went to elementary, middle, and high school in Anson, TX. Throughout his career, Don worked as a loan officer at Anson Bank, later with Houston-area McDavid Oldsmobile dealerships,
and eventually retired from Acura. Never one to remain idle, he continued serving his community during retirement by working with Crowder Funeral Home.
Don was preceded in death by Father, C.M. Hamil, and Mother, Vivian Hamil, Brother Ronald Hamil, Sister Barbara Condron, and his son, Christopher Hamil.
He is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Theresa Hamil; daughters, Donelle Purdue and husband Lynn, Diana Chadrick and husband Chad, and Ashli Oliver; sons, John C. Hamil, Michael Hamil, and wife Becky, Brandon Hamil and wife Lizann, Bradley Hamil and wife Maria. He is also survived by his brothers, Fred Hamil, and wife Glenda, and Edward Hamil and wife Pam.
Don also leaves behind twelve cherished grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchild on the way, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Don will be remembered for his love for the Lord, his strong work ethic, caring heart, devotion to his family and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those who knew and loved him. His memory will be cherished.
There will be a memorial service in honor of Don on Sunday, July 5th, 2026 starting at 3:00 P.M. with a visitation to follow at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 E Main St. League City, TX 77573.
