Cynthia Ann Tunal

Cynthia Ann Tunal, 80 of Texas City, TX passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 in Texas City.  She was born on September 9, 1943 in Houston, TX to Fritz and Fredericka Schulz.

She was a resident of Texas City for over 60 years & a longtime member of The Fellowship Church in Texas City.  Cynthia found much joy in being a wonderful mother & homemaker for those she loved most.  To her, there was no work more fulfilling than taking care of her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed traveling of all sorts, and especially enjoyed spending time with family all through the years at Disney World.  She was known as a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, mamaw, mother-in-law, neighbor, friend, and so much more.  She will be dearly missed, and lovingly remembered.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy Tunal and brother Harold Schulz.  She is survived by her daughter, Lori Brown (Michael) sons; Charles Tunal (Darlene) and George Tunal (Jamie), sisters; Mary Ann Denton, Mynette Benedict and Ruth Ann Rogers, six grandchildren; Charlie Tunal, Chris Tunal, Jennifer Ploss, Ashley Flanagan, Talleri Tjanis and Daphni Tunal, seven great-grandchildren; Hayden Tunal, Claire Tunal, Ellie-Jean Cynthia Tunal, Eva Flanagan, “Little Charlie” Tunal, Niko Tjanis and Benjamin Tunal and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.  Funeral Service will be at 10:00am on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Crowder Funeral Home with Bishop Delbert Herrin officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: The Fellowship Texas City, Children’s Building Fund  2222 Hwy 146 Texas City, TX 77590.

  2. Cindy will be missed dearly, she was such a wonderful lady, and friend. she was also a great mentor as a loving person and child of God. she made such a difference in my life and other lives. I thank the Lord for the opportunity to have known her. My love and prayers go out to her family in their loss.
