Cecil Edward Daughtrey
Cecil Edward Daughtrey aka “Bubba” 62, of Alvin, Texas, passed away on May 27, 2026.
Born on September 29, 1963, to Donna Jean (Bennett) Daughtrey and Wilton Henry Daughtrey, Cecil lived a life marked by hard work, adventure, and a deep love for family.
Cecil graduated from Klein High School in 1982 and went on to build a diverse and accomplished career. He worked with General Motors, designing parts for the automotive industry, and later served as a superintendent in the fire remediation and residential construction fields. He also spent many years as a professional heavy-haul truck driver, traveling across the country behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler. Throughout his career, Cecil’s leadership and business acumen led him to serve as a board member for several industrial companies.
Cecil had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and 18-wheelers. He loved the freedom of the open road and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, whether on two wheels or eighteen.
His adventures, stories, and enthusiasm for life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Cory Daughtrey, and daughter-in-law, Audrey Daughtrey; his sisters, Melissa Daughtrey, Cheryl Shuck and, and her husband, Paul Shuck; his brother, David Horn; and his beloved grandchildren, Heath, Saige, Vivienne, and Myla.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Donna Jean (Bennett) Daughtrey and Wilton Henry Daughtrey.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, adventurous spirit, love of family, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. One of his favorite sayings was, “Say what you do
and do what you say,” a reflection of the honesty and integrity by which he lived. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
