  2. My Dear Cathy,
What a wonderful friend you have been to me and so many others especially children. When I first arrived at Greene Elementary, you took me by the hand and showed me the ropes! Our team developed a very close knit friendship that I’ll never forget. You were the brightness of a star always leading the way. How much you are loved by your family and friends, but God loves you more and has taken you to His heavenly kingdom. I pray that the rest of us truly desire the love of God and one day be united in our Father’s heavenly home.
Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her and may her soul rest in peace.
    Love and prayers,

  3. Compa,
The halls and portables of P.H. Greene were filled with joy and laughter coming from both our students and fifth grade team. I had just moved here from California and you welcomed me in to start a journey together I have always affectionately remembered. Our trip to New York, what a whirlwind of fun, my daughter dog sitting for you and Russ when you left out of town, our “Cathy Days”, so many wonderful memories I will cherish forever. Thank you for giving a part of yourself to me. I pray comfort and peace for Russ and your boys, Alex and Max. You may be physically away from them but you will live forever in their hearts; our hearts. Rest easy Cat because I believe, one day, we will be united in heaven. My heartfelt condolences to the family.

  7. Dear ms.compa, I will forever miss you. I had attention problems and would struggle in my classes. Then one day you came to sub for my class, and then days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months and you became my long term sub and when you became a teacher i visited you everyday. You would sit down and talk to me about my struggles through 4th and 5th grade even though I was just one of your students. And you had such energetic, sweet, and unmatched soul, and you had such a beautiful and caring soul. Teachers don’t usually do that for students especially ones with a short attention span. May your soul live on in God’s hands and I hope God is caring for you and that you are feeling peace in heaven. Sincerely Dezzmone Gradney.

  9. Ms. Compa, an extraordinary teacher indeed! Thank you so much for your patience, humor, and kindness. Oh, how my son enjoyed the 3rd grade and the special bond he had with you. He will miss your smile in the hallways, your encouraging words, and sneaking in a quick hug before he rushed to his 4th grade class. You made school a pleasant and safe place for my son to be. Malachi wants you to know that you are loved and missed. May you rest in the love and light of the Most High. Shalom

  10. Cathy,

I truly enjoyed getting to know you the year I was an aide for you and the other teachers when you were in 4th grade. You were always nice and patient with me and I am glad we became friends. I was deeply sadden and shocked to hear that you had passed. You always made me laugh and smile and you will be truly missed. You were my mentor and friend.
