Carolyn Mae Barnett

Carolyn Mae Barnett (Dennis) passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord at the age of 82 on January 24, 2025 at 8 P.M. CST. She is preceded in death by her parents Martha and Estel (Denny) Dennis, brother Larry Dennis, and husband David Gwynn Barnett. She leaves behind two sons Dwayne and wife Clarinda, and Daryle and wife Julie.

Our mom was born in Beech Grove Indiana and graduated from Beech Grove High School in 1960. It was at a school dance where she met her soon to be husband David. They were married almost 60 years. Mom had many talents. She liked dancing, was an excellent cook, and business owner of multiple antique shops (Seabrook, Galveston, and a booth in an antique mall in south Houston, Texas). She loved her family and friends, the outdoors, her many pets, making arts and crafts, shopping at Bucee’s, and the excitement of rollercoasters. She was very social and enjoyed visiting with her many friends. She and Dad were very patriotic and flew their American flags with much pride. After retiring, they purchased an RV and traveled the country visiting many of the contiguous 48 states.

A celebration of life will be held February 6th between 2-4PM at Crowder funeral home located at 2422 E. Broadway St, Pearland, Tx 77581. In lieu of plants or flowers, please make a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
