Carole Ann Helm

Carole Ann Helm, of Houston, Texas, passed away in the early morning of December 25, 2023 in Houston at the age of 80.

Carole Ann Whitehead was born in Manhattan, NY to Roy Donald Whitehead and Angelina Marie Catalano.  She grew up in Seabright and Redbank, NJ attending Middletown Township High School and attended Bethany College in West Virginia.  She left college to marry and had two daughters. After moving to Houston in 1974 she remained an excellent homemaker and stay home mother.  Later she returned to college and went on to work for the Shuttle Program for NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.  She supported the Shuttle Program for 20 years, most recently as a flight and payload scheduler for Shuttle missions.  She loved all things space and enjoyed traveling to Cape Canaveral in her support of the Shuttle Program.  She became an avid bodybuilder and shared that interest with her daughters.  She enjoyed hosting family Christmas’ and other family holidays especially the fourth of July as a proud and patriotic American.  She loved her husband deeply and they spent 40 years in a very blessed and happy marriage.  Carole was a sweet and generous soul and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.  Her family was touched that she went to her heavenly home on Christmas morning.  Godspeed Carole.

She is survived by her husband James Carlton Helm, daughters Lisa Marie Carlisle and spouse James Carlisle, Kristine Wilson Trevino and spouse Tony Trevino and grandchild Wyatt Anthony Trevino, two step children, Jamie Cyle Hart and spouse Cecil Hart and grandchildren Tray Hart and Taylor Hart, son James Carlton Helm II and spouse Holly Helm, along with other loving family members.

The family will honor and remember Carole in a private family setting.

  2. To the Helm family , I am so sorry to learn of Carole’s passing . We worked together for many years on the shuttle program . She was always so kind and caring of her staff. I was fortunate that our paths crossed so long ago ! I think of her often . God Bless

    So sorry for your loss of Carole. I know she will be missed but I also feel it is a relief when we know our loved ones no longer have to suffer. I did not know her well, but she was a beautiful lady.
