Carmen Dolores Trevino

With deep love and gratitude for a life well lived, we share that Carmen Dolores Trevino (June 8, 1951 – February 15, 2026), born in Houston, Texas, passed peacefully on February 15, 2026, surrounded by prayer and family, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease.

Carmen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and woman of enduring faith whose strength, warmth, and hospitality shaped her family in lasting ways. A proud graduate of Milby High School, she carried resilience and spirit throughout her life. She lived a life of service, teaching children at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church and volunteering her time assisting elders in her community.

In her professional life, Carmen worked briefly in administrative support at Baker Oil Tools before discovering her true calling in jewelry sales. She excelled throughout her career with Zales, Gordon’s, and Kay Jewelers, and proudly owned Carmen’s Jewelry. Jewelry was more than a profession to her — it was a way to participate in life’s most joyful milestones. She took great pride in helping customers mark engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, and new beginnings, bringing warmth, sincerity, and integrity to every interaction.

She was preceded in death by her father, Trinidad Trevino; her mother, Carmen Garza-Palomino; her brothers, Ruben Trevino, Andrew Trevino, Martine Trevino, and Jesse “Petey” Garcia, Jr.; and her beloved best friend, Herminia “Minnie” Perez, who held a cherished place in her life.

She is survived by her sons, Abraham Gallagher and his wife, Julia, and Timothy James Gallagher and his wife, Shana; her stepdaughter, Kathleen Edstrom and her family; and her six cherished grandchildren: Kathleen “Kate” and Elizabeth “Ellie,” children of Abraham; and Henry, Timothy “Tike,” Vayla, and Carina, children of Timothy. She is also survived by her sisters, Diane Gomez, Stella Rodriguez, and Annette Villarreal, along with extended family and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Her family finds peace in knowing she is now whole, restored, and at rest. Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

A graveside service with Catholic Rite of Committal will be held at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery (Dickinson, TX) on February 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. (arrival begins at 10:45 a.m.). A reception celebrating her life will follow at the Gallagher home. The address will be provided at graveside services; those needing it in advance are welcome to reach out.

Carmen often reminded her sons, “Every day is a blessing — don’t you ever forget that.” May we honor her by living with that same gratitude.
