Caridad “Cari” Rivera
Caridad “Cari” Rivera
February 14, 1969 – May 18, 2026
Caridad Rivera, lovingly known as “Cari,” was born on February 14, 1969, in Manhattan, New York, to her beloved parents, Julie Gallart and renowned salsa singer Ismael Rivera. Cari entered into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior on May 18, 2026.
Cari was a beautiful soul whose life reflected the love, joy, and music that surrounded her from the very beginning. She was known for her infectious laughter, compassionate heart, and extraordinary musical talents. A gifted musician, Cari could effortlessly remember hundreds of songs and found immense joy in playing percussion, singing, and sharing her harmonica music with family and friends.
A devoted Catholic, Cari lived her faith with sincerity and grace. She faithfully served for many years in her church choir and deeply cherished her church family and community. Her kindness, servant’s heart, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her.
Cari dearly loved her mother, Julie, and treasured the special bond she shared with her brother Felipe and sister Raquel. Known affectionately and proudly as the “Northside Newyorican” of the family, Cari brought laughter and joy wherever she went. She especially cherished spending time with her beloved nephew Sebastian and niece Bella, who brought her endless happiness.
In her quiet moments, Cari enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, working on latch hook projects, and completing crossword puzzles. She found beauty in life’s simple pleasures and shared that warmth with everyone around her.
She is survived by her loving mother, Julie Gallart; her brother, Felipe; her sister, Raquel; and her cherished nephew and niece, Sebastian and Bella.
Cari was preceded in death by her beloved father, Ismael Rivera, and her grandmother, Margarita, with whom we now imagine her joyfully reunited. We find comfort in picturing Cari running freely, organizing the heavenly choir, and filling heaven with the same laughter, music, and love she shared so generously throughout her life.
Her beautiful spirit and loving memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
