Brenda Lynn Speer
Brenda Lynn Speer, 66, of Pearland, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026. Born on January 16, 1960, in Houston, Texas, Brenda was the beloved daughter of Edwin Frank Matusek and Bernice Mary Kramr Matusek. A lifelong resident of Pearland, Brenda built her life around the people she loved most — her family.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Matusek.
She is survived by her loving mother, Bernice Mary Matusek; her daughter, Morgan Hardin and husband Marvin; her sons, Jason Speer, Ryan Speer and wife Shelly, and Alden Speer and wife Kendall. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Agundez, and husband Oscar; her brother, Mark Matusek, and wife Susan; and her nine cherished grandchildren: Abbey Beene, Dorian Speer, Luke Speer, Austyn Speer, Molly Speer, Nolan Speer, McKinlee Hardin, Madelyn Hardin, and Maverick Hardin.
Brenda was a devoted Christian whose faith guided the way she lived and cared for others. She was a loving and selfless person who always tried to help those around her with whatever she had. Known for her kind heart and generous spirit, Brenda found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved her chickens, enjoyed spending time at the beach, and treasured every moment with her family — especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Crowder Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Brenda’s memory.

Aunt Bernice and family my deepest condolences.
I just saw this on Facebook. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I don’t know if you remember me but I took care of you when you were little. I owned Pearland Day Care and your mom brought you there. My sister also worked with your mom for awhile so we would all go out for dinner occasionally. I know you will miss her. She was a very sweet lady.
I am so sorry for your loss. Brenda and I worked together for a while at Kelsey Seybold. I will miss talking to her and meeting for dinner after work and getting eggs from her. I would have been at her funeral if I had known. I just found out. She loved her grandchildren so much. Praying for your family.
