Betty married her soulmate, Russell Cornitius July 22, 1989. They were married at the First Baptist Church in Galveston and were inseparable from then on. Russell was everything to Betty. She loved him, their children and grandchildren very deeply.

She is survived by her husband, Russell Cornitius, her son, Robert Best; and her stepchildren, Tammy, Robbin, Mindy, and Amber (and husband Geoff). Betty also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren that brought her endless joy and pride.

She is preceded in death by her two daughters, Cheryl Best Zimmerle and Christina “Tina” Best Fish.

Betty and her husband, Russell Bernard Cornitius, shared a wonderful life together. In their younger years, they loved to travel and make memories together. In more recent years, they found joy in going out to dinner and spending time with their grandchildren.

Betty will be remembered for her warm heart and her beautiful smile. She could often be found cooking for her family, shopping for loved ones, or calling to check in on her grandkids. She was kind, sweet, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
