Barbara McGee Walther

Barbara McGee Walther, 77, of Alvin, Texas, passed away on May 1, 2026. She was born on
November 24, 1948, in Kingsville, Texas, to Travis Lee McGee and Constance Joyce Burris.
Barbara graduated from Texas A&I University with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services and a master’s degree in Education. She was a devoted educator in Alvin, Texas, for 20 years, teaching Reading and English to third through fifth grade students. During her teaching career, she was honored as Teacher of the Year in 2002. Barbara was also a member of the Sweet Adelines, a barbershop chorus in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a faithful member of Grace Chapel Church in Houston.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Michael Walther; her parents, Travis McGee and Constance Burris; her sister, Patricia McGee; and her brother, David McGee.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher Walther and wife Lisa, and Matthew Walther and wife Kellie; five grandchildren, Jacob and wife AnnMarie, Aaron, Andrew, Maysen, and Olivia; and her great-granddaughter, Charlotte.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 E. Broadway St., Pearland, Texas 77581.
A second visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at First Baptist Church, 312 W. King Ave., Kingsville, Texas 78363, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 P.M. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Chamberlain Cemetery, 735 W. Caesar Ave., Kingsville, Texas 78363.
