Annie Ruth Grubbs
Annie R. Grubbs, (84), passed away on 5/14/2026 in the comfort of her own home.
Born in Andalusia, AL, she was the daughter of Robert and Golda Hall. She was in the graduating class in 1960 at Dickinson High School, earning the Betty Crocker Homemaker of the year. She was employed at Dr. Chacko in Bacliff, TX, working as medical secretary where she became good friends with Pat Allen, R.N. Then she went to work for Neurosurgeon Dr. Sinha in a private practice close to Clearlake Hospital where she met Cathy Pruzin.
Annie enjoyed feeding the critters such as the birds and squirrels so she could watch them as she drank her coffee throughout the day. She did not care for the opossums nor the racoons which she would often shoot with her BB gun. She enjoyed making baked goods for her family as well as the sheriffs department and the ladies at the bank. She made the best fried shrimp and shrimp chowder her family has ever tasted.
Annie is survived by her daughter Geralynn Straughn, her sons Gary (Rebecca) Grubbs, and Gregory (Qaitlyn) Grubbs. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeffery Ahern, Jennifer Ellison, Jessica Strong, Bryan Conrad, Emma Kersten, Reagan (Austin) Hamm, Ryann (Aaron) Johnson, Benjamin Grubbs, Truman Grubbs, and several great-grandchildren. As well as her beloved cat Molly. She was predeceased by her mother and father, as well as her brothers Robert Hall and Truman Hall.

Anie was a classmate of mine. Throughout the years we discussed genealogy and our family histories. Annie was a strong and determined woman. I liked her a lot.
Annie has been a dear friend throughput the years I have known her in Wild Country. She stood by me in my own times of loss and I hope I stood by her as her illness progressed. Prayers for all her family and friends.
My sincere condolences to the family of Annie Ruth.

I will miss you in wild Country Estate, when I arrive at my house, I would always call you to let you know I was there, and you would come visit. I will miss you!!
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I only met Annie about 6 months while helping Sue work in Annie’s yard. Annie loved to talk. Every 10 minutes she would ask us to take a break to sit and talk.
Condolences to family and friends of Annie. Annie has been my friend and neighbor for several years. I will miss our visits and conversations while watching the critters she loved to feed. She was thoughtful always asking if I wanted something to eat or drink when I visited. And when she would go to the store if I needed anything.I was blessed to have known her and will miss her.
