  1. Long-time church family friend, we lived across the street on Sherwood Oaks when Stan and I were first married. The Adam’s were afterschool family if one of the kids forgot the door key. My oldest stepchildren remember Anita fondly from those early years.

Even after we moved from Dickinson, Anita remained interested in all the kids and was a loving “grandma” to them at church, as their own were far away.

Anita always had a smile and a hug for everyone in the church. She would happily bring dessert or a covered dish for church events. She loved the newsletters I put together from the church and was always supportive.

Prior to Harvey, we had great fun seeing Anita and the Adams clan at Dickinson BBQ on Fridays. She was loved and she loved all those around her and she will be truly missed. I was so glad she was able to watch at least once of our services online during the past few weeks.

My love and prayers to Jeff and the family as her life is celebrated.

  3. Anita was the sweetest, kindest person. I loved it she had her own email account and was actively reaching out to friends often. She kept church members informed about those who had moved away. Since moving to Friendswood herself after Hurricane Harvey, she has been missed. My prayers to Jeff and the entire Adams family. What a lady!

  9. Anita has been an integral part of the Ebner family since Elaine’s marrying my brother Tommy nearly 40 years ago. Christmases will never be the same without her radiant presence. Anita remembered everybody, cared deeply for everybody. She was an angel on earth and now an angel with God. I know she’s rejoined with her beloved mother and sisters. She will also be waiting with open arms to enfold Jeff when the time comes. She and Mama were so different yet became close. I’m kind of hoping she’s checking in with my mom as well and keeping her out of trouble. Anita so appreciated even the smallest of gestures. Her team of Brad, Elaine and Richard were so constantly supportive and loving. She could not have had more devotion from her children and was exceptionally fortunate in that respect. Anita, I love you, miss you, appreciate more than you know the calls every anniversary of Mom’s death. God continue to be with you and all who have loved you. Rest In Peace, Sweet Anita.

  12. Anita Adams was truly a lady and had a smile for everyone. For a time several friends met at Wendy’s . She always picked up one member of the group who no longer drove. Thoughtful and kind, that was Anita.

  14. Our love and prayers go out to all of the family. Heaven sure got a good one in Anita. Her love and compassion to everyone that she ever meet left such an impression in so many. I met Anita around 25 or 26 years ago. She was like another mother to me and always made my family feel like a part of her family. Anytime our family had a sadness or even a happy time, Anita remembered us and always sent a beautiful written card and would remind me with her words of how special our God is and will always have our best interest. I will miss her words of encouragement so much. RIP our beautiful Anita! Love you and God Bless!

  21. We only knew her from our visits to Dickinson, but her smiling face has stuck with me. She joined us for coffee when we visited and the coffee group was out for breakfast. I know she will be missed by you all and by me when we visit again. Rest well Anita and sympathies to her family. Barb Taylor, mother of Marilee Norred.

Thank you, Elaine, for sharing your lovely mother with us. Her sparkle lives on through you. Love, prayers and hugs from our family.

  25. Brad, Richard, and Elaine,

I just watched “The Dragon “ lifting off; I hope Uncle Jeff was able to see it! Then, a message came from Jayne about Aunt Anita I passing through Heaven’s Door. If I added company correctly…. she had turned 100 last year! Amazing! One of my
fondest memories is the time I spent a week In Dickinson with you all. It was my
first flight!! ( Brad had been visiting in Baton Rouge; we flew together. All of 45 m
minutes, I think?!). Aunt Anita and a Uncle Jeff were amazing! They were at our
wedding almost 45 years ago; Elaine, you were in charge of The Guest Book! I am
lucky, because I am the oldest of The Hopkins Clan and probably the luckiest , that
I was able to “remember more times and stories “ about your Mom. Many a
morning I would be drinking coffee and your Mom called Momma… Momma and
Anita, smiling ear-to- ear.😊. Thank each of you for “ sharing amazing times with
me… and our whole family”. I guess Momma, Dad,Doc, and Anita have received
their respective jobs in HEAVEN. Love and sympathy to your Dad and each of you
and your families. I was BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE to have experienced and witnessed her love for each of you and me. Love and Prayers, Judy May

  27. I know this is years later, but I too wanted to give my condolences. Anita always was there to send pictures and clippings of the accomplishments of our sons. She always did have a smile on her face and a good word to say. I was friends with Harriett Engelke who has also passed. Anita and she were great friends. Perhaps they are spending time together in the afterlife. I know that if Harriett were here, she would be saying wonderful things about Anita as well.
