Andrzej “Aba” Antoni Wielhorski

 

Andrzej “Aba” Antoni Wielhorski, 89, of Pearland, TX passed away on March 13, 2024 in Pearland. Mr.

Wielhorski was born on June 15, 1934 in Warsaw Poland to Czeslaw and Waclawa Wielhorski. He was born five years before the start of WWII. His childhood was spent moving around the countryside looking for food and avoiding both the German and Russian armies. Andrzej graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and then toured the European art scene. He moved to Paris and taught in French West Africa before emigrating to the United States. Aba has been a four year resident of Pearland and was formerly of Clear Lake. He is a member of St.Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Nassau Bay and a former Professor at Texas A&M in College Station.

Andrzej is preceded in death by his parents Czeslaw and Waclawa Wielhorski and his brother Stefan Wielhorski. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen Wielhorski; nephew Jacub Wielhorski; sisters in law Jean Moe and her husband Mike, Jane Rose and her husband Darrell; Patricia Anderson and her husband Steve; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Nassau Bay on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Houston Area Parkinson Society.
