Alma Marie Smith
Alma Marie Smith 87 passed away January 22, 2024, in Pearland, Texas. She was born February 4, 1936, in Phoenix, Arizona. Her parents were Harvey and Marjorie Childers Rouse.
Alma resided in the Pearland area since the mid 60’s. She owned and operated the Sunshine Children’s World in Houston, Texas for over thirty years. She had several hobbies that included quilting, crocheting and needlepoint. She was always willing to volunteer to help someone in need. She was a faithful volunteer at the Helping Hands Ministry at Sagemont Baptist Church and the Pregnancy Crisis Center.
Alma is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Roy Joe Smith.
She is survived by her children, Donna Stewart, husband Gregg, sons, Michael Smith and Douglas Smith, wife Lisa; grandchildren, Ryan Stewart, wife Cara, Jake Stewart, Shelly Rosenberger, husband Ben, Jennifer Smith, Ashley and Wesley Anderson; great-grandchildren, Luke Rosenberger and Naomi Rosenberger
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Crowder Funeral Home located at 2422 E Broadway Pearland, Texas with Pastor Ben Rosenberger officiating.
Donna, Mike and Doug. I am so sad to hear about your mom dying. She was such a strong woman of God. When tribulations came, she just shook her finger at troubles and said you’re not getting to me, I am standing with God Almighty and then she plugged on. She was so giving and forgiving to so many people. That mischievous look on her face in her obituary picture is so very her.

Your mom’s love for children and her servant heart have been a beautiful testimony for our Lord through the years. I’ve been blessed to know her.
