Good evening, I’m Felicia Dolores Trigo, Popo’s oldest granddaughter the 2^nd of 7.

Popo was born on a Wednesday August 7, 1929.  Many don’t know this but he was born Alfredo Evangelista. He was born to a man name Jose Evangelista and Carolina Hernandez.  Since he was raised solely by his mother, he changed his last name to Hernandez. I came across this fun fact when I pulled some documents from the closet in my room when I was living with them.  I remember seeing their marriage license and it said, Alfredo Evangelista and Dolores Magallon….I took that paper downstair and said what is this???? Momo explained and I said you mean I could be Felicia Evangelista instead of Felicia Hernandez!!!  I thought it was a beautiful last name but I understood his reason for changing it. Popo was an honorable man. So the Hernandez last name carried on for my great-grandma through Popo. Popo had 1 sibling a sister Amelia De Leon and from his sister only had 1 niece.  The Hernandez side of the family is very small. Very unlike the family he married into.

In his honor, there will be a visitation on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson. A rosary will be held at 7:00pm. A funeral mass is planned for Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock, Texas. Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
