Irwin L “Hoppy” Hopson

Irwin L “HoppDad and Pat0001 (2)y” Hopson, 73, passed away suddenly at his Houston, Texas home on Saturday, December 12th after a long battle with heart ailments. “Hoppy” was a retiree of Rohm and Hass, worked as a private consultant and finished his career as a Project Director of Security for The Johnson Space Center and White Sands Missile Range. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Minnie Porter Hopson and his sister, Brenda Sue Hopson Ruh. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hopson, of Houston, TX, his brother Glenn Hopson of Knoxville, TN, his sons, Scott Hopson and Chris Hopson of Knoxville, Adam Hopson and Jesse Hopson of Houston and San Antonio, TX respectively. His grandchildren Drew and Devin Hopson, Blake Wallin all of Knoxville and Ilah Hopson of Houston and Baylor Hopson of San Antonio and many nieces and nephews. Receiving of friends and service will be at Crowder Funeral Home in Webster, TX, 111 East Medical Center Blvd, on Wednesday at 10am with a Ceremony at 11am. A memorial service will be in Knoxville, TN on Sunday, December 20th at Ebenezer United Methodist Church at 5pm with receiving of friends preceding the service from 3pm-5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to The American Heart Association.
