Brody James Whitten
Brody James Whitten, of Dickinson, Texas passed away on September 21, 2024 at the youthful age of 18.
Brody was born on August 24, 2006 in Webster, Texas; the first-born son of Rusty and Ariell Bilek Whitten. He grew up in Dickinson where he attended school and graduated from Dickinson High School Class of 2024. At DHS he played football his freshman year and then decided to take part in the welding program, where he acquired a new hobby.
On Brody’s third birthday, he was overjoyed to share his special day welcoming twin siblings – brother, Lucas, and sister, Bailey into the world. They not only shared a birthday but have an unwavering bond that will never be broken.
He was fond of several nicknames acquired throughout his life – B-Rowdy, B-Man, B-Dub, Birdie, Bubba, and B – from all those who loved him, and he was fiercely loyal to all he loved as well. Having a keen sense of adventure, he dabbled in all sports and even brought home a first-place ribbon for mutton busting at Galveston County Fair and Rodeo. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors.
Although his time with family and friends ended too soon, Brody’s life was never short on love, laughter, and fun. His infectious laugh could light up any room and his love and generosity could melt any heart.
Brody was greeted in heaven by his Mamaw, Pegi Cornish; Nana, Diane Whitten; great grandparents, Murray and Helen Wilson; Frank and Margaret Bilek; Clifford and Dorothy Whitten; JD and Janette Carroll; Henry and Inez Cornish.
He leaves behind a tremendous amount of family and friends who will forever hold him in their heart; his parents, Rusty and Ariell Whitten; sister, Bailey Whitten; brother, Lucas Whitten; grandparents, John and Hope McNatt; Don and Michelle Bilek; Wade and Joyce Cooke; Stan and Jana Cornish; David Whitten; aunts and uncles, Keith and Rene Whitten; Blair Bilek; Cameron Cornish; Jesse and Elyse Fulmer; Emily Cooke; Paul McNatt; Mark McNatt; cousins, Gabrielle Bilek, Karsten Bilek, Mia Bilek, Peyton Whitten, Addison Whitten, Blakely Novicky, Jacob Fulmer, Randy Novicky, Lana Novicky, and Sylvia Fulmer.

Hello, my name is Jonathan Flores I grew up with Brody, he wasn’t just a friend he was a brother to me. I’ve known him since Silbernagle Elementary School and we graduated together and in the same welding program together, he was a joyful person, had an amazing personality. He was one of the strongest people I knew.
I send all my condolences to the Whitten family words cannot explain how this hurt me and all of our buddy’s we have that were very close to Brody.
If I could, I would gladly take this pain on myself so you all wouldn’t have to go thought this. I love you all, and your in my forever prayers. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. PSALM Ch.30:5
Brody was in my English 4 class last year. He was always so quiet and respectful. He was a sweet kid and a such a mature young man for his age. I am stunned to learn of his passing and I send my deepest sympathies to his family. I am lifting you in my prayers for God’s grace, peace, and comfort during this unimaginably difficult time.
Dear family,
Jim and I are so grateful that you shared your son with us. Jim loved having he and the other boys around and hopes they learned a few things from him. And they never cared what was cooked, they would eat it. They were always up for whatever Jim had going on and were a tremendous help to him. Made us both remember the old days when my son and his friends were in and out of our house. My little granddaughter gave them a run for their money, but pretty much did whatever she told them to do. We continue our prayers for all of you that God will grant you peace and strength for the days ahead.

Dear Heavenly Father, in this time of sorrow, we lift his family and all who loved Brody to You. We ask for Your loving embrace to surround this grieving family. May they find solace in Your constant presence and feel the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. O Lord, grant them strength for each step of the way. In Jesus Name, we pray. Amen.
All our love, forever and always.

Things happen in this life that we don’t understand. This is most definitely one of them. One certainty of this life is that God always knows best. I pray at this time that God gives this entire family comfort. Rusty, your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Whitten family and friends.
I was Brody’s welding teacher at DHS and am at a loss as both his teacher and a father to three boys of my own. He was certainly a kind, caring, and thoughtful young man. He was always thinking and is certainly loved by those that had the opportunity to spend time with him. My heart breaks for y’all, and I’m sorry that I cannot be there in person to share fond memories with you.
Regards, Mr Rose
I never met Brody but felt like I knew him personally thru many conversations with a proud parent. I’m lost for words to tell you how sorry I am, but now is the time to have faith and trust in Jesus. Rusty my prayers go out to you and your family to help y’all through these heartbreaking times. Danny Frankum
