John F. Bednarik, Jr.

John F. Bednarik, Jr., 69, of Texas City passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in Webster, Texas.  He was born February 5, 1948 in Youngstown, Ohio to John F. Bednarik, Sr. and Dorothy E. Bednarik.

He lived in the Texas City/La Marque area for over 45 years. John worked 32 years for BP before retiring. He loved BBQ cooking; he volunteered at the VFW and helped with fundraising for the United Way. John coached La Marque Little League for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Teresa Colston and sister Dorothy Bednarik.

John is survived by his significant other Wanda Hamilton, daughter Brandi Rohn (Samuel); sons: John F. Bednarik, III (Annie) and Richard L. Bednarik (Betty May), sister Bernadette Bednarik, brother David Bednarik; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A visitation will be on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at the Texas City Missionary Baptist Church, 2402 32nd Ave North,  Texas City, TX   77590.  Graveside Service will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 12:00 Noon Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Woodville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either United Way or any veterans association of your choice.
