Suzanne Childs Parker
Suzanne Childs Parker, 72, of Houston, Texas, was ushered into Glory on December 8, 2025. She was born on March 12, 1953, and was the beloved adopted daughter of Mortie Harrison Childs and Dixie Martin Clark Childs, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Mary Sue and Frank McCracken; her infant son, Baby Boy Parker; siblings Richard Reese and Jacquie West; and brothers-in-law Arnold Jay Frazier and Robert Lee Frazier.
Suzanne devoted her life to serving the Lord, her family, and her church. Her life was filled with ministry—Sunday School, Ladies Bible Studies, Vacation Bible School, church camp, and helping raise funds so children and youth could participate in these programs. Known affectionately as Mama P or Mamaw, she comforted others through prayer, encouragement, and the simple gift of sharing cobbler or chicken and dumplins with anyone who might need it.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, David Parker; her children Amy Morgan (Cody) and Matthew Parker (Shannon); and her grandchildren Ethan, Sydney, Liam, Noah, and Finley. She is also survived by her siblings Debi Fly (Richard) and Craig Behm (Jan); her sister Annette Owen (husband Kenneth, deceased) and her children Sherrie Erickson (Tommy), Jaime Hernandez (Phil), Julie Peebles, and Kenneth Owen Jr. (Tiffany); and her brother-in-law Billy Ray Parker (wife Jan, deceased) and Judy Thompson (husband Richard, deceased). She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and dear friends.
In celebration of Suzanne, please wear colorful clothing.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Friendswood, 111 East Heritage Drive, Friendswood, TX 77546 with an onsite reception to follow.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…” — Romans 8:28

I am going to miss her hugs and that beautiful smile. I will carry all the life lessons she taught me forever.
My heart goes out to you all. Suzanne was a dear friend and one of God’s good gifts from above. My life has been blessed because the Lord caused our paths to merge so many years and so many good memories ago. I grieve your loss and David, I want you to know Wanda and I are praying for you and your family. We love you all dearly.
I just want to say that I am so grateful that the Lord allowed me to cross paths with Suzanne; to know her and to be able to love her for a time. I always enjoyed my hugs from Momma P. She is someone that I will never forget. Just know that here in Florida, the Clement family is praying for all of you. I know this is bittersweet because she is definitely home where we all long to be.
I will miss her! I didn’t see her very much in my life, but I know she was a sweet woman. Mortie Childs was my grandfather. My condolences to her friends and family!
Always a leader of First Baptist Friendswood who always was on the first pews at the services. She will be very missed but she sits at the feet of her Lord. My prayers are for her family and many friend.
My name is Brenda Schofield Howard and I went to elementary school with Suzanne.
We were special friends who spent the night with each other. My family were good friends with her family as well. I have fond memories and during the segregation period my family decided to move to Humble. Suzanne came to see me at my small apartment when I got married. We have kept up with each other via Facebook.
I had no idea she was ill. She was very proud of her children.
I will miss her dearly.
RIP my good friend Suzanne
