The incredible journey of Ron Woodard’s life reached its conclusion peacefully on August 30, 2026, at home with his sons by his side.

Born on July 11, 1947, in Gloucester, Massachusetts, he was raised by his mother and grandparents as the eldest of five siblings.

Hard work and dedication were his hallmarks from an early age, and he became the first of his family to leave home and graduate from college. Strong and independent, he harnessed his charm and met his match in Kathy while chasing life through Texas. Two sons and too many friends to count, his charm and willingness to listen, along with his loyalty and resoluteness, defined him and why he resonated with so many. His quick sense of humor endeared him, and no matter how hard others laughed, he was laughing the most, and often at himself. In his yearbook, he wrote that he wanted to make his family and his community proud, and he accomplished both, many times over.

He is finally reunited with his wife and love of his life, Kathleen, his sisters Lori and Georgina, and his best friend Merlin.

He is survived by his sons Christopher and Michael, his beautiful grandchildren Marlowe and Elle, his daughter-in-law Kaitlyn, his sister Jane Formichella and countless others who love him.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 2nd at St. Mary of the Expectation Catholic Church in League City, TX (1612 E Walker St, League City, TX 77573).

And a burial service will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, November 25th at Dolliver Cemetery in Gloucester, MA (13-15 Lincoln St, Gloucester, MA 01930).
