Sandra Sue Simmons
Sandra Sue Simmons, of Houston, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 in Houston, Texas at the age of 68. She was born on October 28, 1957 in Morgantown, West Virginia to Charles Robert and Margaret Louise Simmons.
She enjoyed reading, watching Hallmark movies, spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed traveling. She was very creative, one of her creative endeavors included making custom floral arrangements for her friends. Celebrating her Italian heritage, Sandy loved making the classic Italian dessert tiramisu. She was a Christian and displayed her love for others through her compassion, kindness, and thoughtful listening. She was a very intelligent, loving, caring and giving woman. She was quiet and reflective, but also had a witty and imaginative sense of humor. She loved all kinds of music, especially country and George Strait. She was an animal lover but especially cats.
In her more than 43 years supporting NASA, the Space Shuttle, Artemis and International Space Station Sandy served in multiple roles including Lead of the MCC OS Support Group, Information Technology Security Administrator and, most recently Support Center Specialist. Sandy was widely regarded as a critical asset, always ready to lend her support and share her knowledge, which inspired those around her. Her calm demeanor and excellent analytic skills made her a perfect match for solving problems. Her unwavering dedication, expertise, and positive spirit made Sandy not only an indispensable resource but also a driving force behind Mission success.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Charles Simmons; partner Clarence’s son Douglas Schultz
Sandra is survived by her loving partner of 35 years, Clarence Schultz; his daughter Tammy Schultz, his son Gregory Schultz; Clarence’s grandson Josh; many aunts/uncles and cousins. She is also survived by a loving group of very close friends from 40+ years.
The Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 10:00am with a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 11:00am at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main, League City, Texas 77573.
