Nancy Anita Hermann
Nancy Anita Hermann, 75, of Houston, Texas, passed peacefully into her heavenly home on May 9, 2026, with her devoted husband by her side.
Born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas, to Ernest Joseph and Willie Beatrice Gonsoulin, Nancy was the second of seven children. She grew up in Groves, Texas, before her family relocated to Houston. A graduate of the University of Houston Pharmacy School, she began her career as a pharmacist at St. Luke’s Hospital, where she met the love of her life, Dr. Heinz J. Hermann, then a cardiology fellow. Together they built a life in Clear Lake City, raising two sons, Gregory and Andrew, and serving as charter members of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church.
Nancy had many passions, and she gave herself fully to each one. She and Heinz maintained a horse farm in south Houston for years where she showed great strength and resilience, helping to haul horses to shows and providing support with breeding and care. One of her proudest and most fond memories was when she delivered a breech foal on her own with a veterinarian guiding her by phone, she named that foal “At Last.” In addition to her love for horses, she was especially fond of her German Shepherds, Nick and Sunny, who gave her many years of joy and companionship. Nancy had a love for learning and was a voracious reader and talented writer, authoring several historical romance fiction books. But most of all, her biggest passion was being a loving mother and devoted wife who loved her family unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Jeffrey and Samuel Gonsoulin.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Heinz J. Hermann; sons Gregory Hermann and his wife Azalea, and Andrew Hermann; sisters Becky Gonsoulin Bell and her husband Lester Bravek, Nellie Gonsoulin Hartsell and her husband David, and Jennifer Gonsoulin McCarthy; brother John Weldon Gonsoulin; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 6:00–7:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm, at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, TX.
