Anthony Joseph Scanlin, Jr.
Anthony Joseph Scanlin, Jr., lovingly known as Bubba, passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 69. Born in Houston, Texas on March 4, 1956, Bubba was a proud Texan with a big heart, a sharp sense of humor, and a love for music, family and his dogs “Big” and “Lucy”. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Sandra Scanlin; Grandmother Grace Lefley; brothers, Christopher Scanlin and Joseph Scanlin; sister Mary Scanlin Davila; and cherished pets “Sarge” and “Nikita.”
Bubba is survived by his siblings: Camille York, Robin Kristoff, Sandy (Mike) Powell, John (Lisa) Scanlin, Dino Scanlin, David (Marie) Scanlin, and Catherine Prince, as well as many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends who will miss him dearly.
Bubba was a 1975 graduate of J. Frank Dobie High School. He went on to become a Master Welder for Texas Pipebending Co. where he worked for many years. He was also a gifted musician who loved playing the piano and guitar, often bringing laughter and music to family gatherings.
Bubba faced life’s challenges with grit and humor, living with Parkinson’s Disease for over 30 years with strength and determination.
He was one-of-a-kind, funny, loyal, and full of love. He will be deeply missed by all who know him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd., Webster, Tx 77598.
