Richard Thomas Garcia, 51, of La Marque, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Richard was born on October 4, 1974, in Texas City, Texas, to Laura and Richard J. Garcia. He was a lifetime resident of La Marque and a graduate of La Marque High School, class of 1994 and of Alvin Community College. A dedicated member of the La Marque Police Department for 21 years, Richard held the title of Sargent
He was preceded in death by his parents. Richard is survived by his wife, Amanda Garcia; four sons: Jose David Godinez, Kaleb James Mora, Jaice Alexander Garcia, and Richard Thomas “Tommy” Garcia, Jr; and his sister: Brittany O’Connor (Jesse).
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Abundant Live Christian Center (601 Delany Road, La Marque, Texas), with Pastor Walter Hallam and Pastor Joshua Rudolph offciating.
Honorary Pallbearers are David Godinez, Kaleb Mora, Jaice Garcia, Mychal O’Connor, Forrest Gandy, Justin Waggoner and Brian Ray.
Services are under the direction of James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque.
