Joseph Mathew Giamfortone
Joseph Mathew Giamfortone, 93, a lifelong resident of Dickinson, Texas, passed away in Dickinson, Texas on March 24, 2026. He was born on May 9, 1932 in Dickinson, Texas to parents, Frank Giamfortone and Mary Lafaso Giamfortone.
Joseph, “Joe” or “Joe Mathew”, as many knew him, made his life’s career as an engineering technician for the State of Texas Highway Department. He was a faithful member of Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Joe was a kind, responsible, caring man devoted to his wife of 73 years and his three cherished daughters. Always quick to laugh or smile, or offer a spontaneous bit of humor, he was quite simply a truly good man.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Debra Giamfortone and sister, Rosemary Giamfortone Brown. He leaves behind to treasure his memory, his loving wife, Patricia Palmer Giamfortone; daughters, Rebecca Giamfortone (Harvey Criswell) and Denise “Missy” Baylor (David) and grandson, Travis Baylor.
In his honor a Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday March 30, 2026 at 11:00am at Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church, Dickinson, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Joe’s name to Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church or La Vita Bella personal care home.
