Jimmie Douglas Faircloth
Jimmie Douglas Faircloth, age 81, of Texas City, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, surrounded by his children and sisters.
Born on August 28, 1943, in Statesboro, Georgia, Jimmie was the beloved son of Amos J. Faircloth, Jr. and Beatrice Faircloth. Jimmie graduated from Savannah High School in 1961. After graduation he worked as an apprentice at a shipyard before joining the military in 1965. He loved drag racing, golf, being a caretaker to many, figuring anything out, the stock market, and more recently he loved debating politics.
Jimmie proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1965 to 1967, as a Machinery Repairman Petty Officer Third Class. He served on the U.S.S. Everglades and the U.S.S. Howard D. Crow where he earned a National Defense Service Medal for serving during a national emergency. After his time of service, Jimmie worked for almost 37 years at A&A Machine Inc. in La Marque, Texas. He held several positions until his retirement in 2006. In his last role as Machine Shop Estimator, he created an information computer program that is still used today.
Upon his retirement in 2006, Jimmie learned to successfully day trade in the stock market while dedicating his whole world to caring for his son Jason for over 20 years. Jimmie was an incredible caretaker and could tell you anything about the heart and medicines. If he didn’t know an answer, he would always figure it out to ensure Jason received the best care that ultimately gave his son many more years of life.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his father Amos James Faircloth, Jr., his mother Beatrice Faircloth, and his beloved son Jason Scott Faircloth.
He is survived by his son Jonathan Faircloth and daughter Jennifer Faircloth Earl and her husband Kyle, his sisters Jacki Streett and Linda Lee, his granddaughters he adored so much, Alexis Earl Palmer and his dancing queen Kyla Earl, granddogs Zoey Earl and Charlie Earl, his soon to arrive first great-grandchild, his nieces Kim Eshelman, Niki Pye and husband Daniel Pye, Mandi Eshelman, Jamie Anderson and husband Tyler Anderson, fur nephew Charlie, great nephews Tristan Pye and Dawson Pye. The family would like to thank his medical team, Drs. Prince and LaConte, the incredible emergency and ICU staff of HCA Mainland Medical Hospital for their compassionate gentle care for him and his family, his phenomenal day nurse Luynda, the “cute blonde” in radiology, and Traditions Hospice. The family would also like to acknowledge the love and support of his longtime neighbors Paulette Roeder and Charlie Roeder.
Jimmie never liked to be fussed over so a private service was held for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jimmie’s memory to Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
