Jeanette Carol Luxardo Duncan

Jeanette Carol Luxardo Duncan, 80, of Houston, went peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Doll House Assisted Living in La Marque, Texas. She was born on April 22, 1945, at St. Mary’s Infirmary in Galveston, Texas, to Henry and Georgia Luxardo.

Jeanette called Houston home for 37 years and previously lived in Pottstown, Pennsylvania; Bay City, Katy, College Station, and Galveston, Texas. She graduated from Ball High School in Galveston in 1963. Jeanette worked most of her life in human resources. She most recently served as HR Manager for Thompson + Hanson Landscape Architecture. Following retirement, she volunteered in the NICU at Memorial Hermann Hospital Southwest, offering comfort and compassion to families during tender moments.

Jeanette was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love for her family was the center of her life. She found joy in scrapbooking cherished memories, doting on her beloved cats, and unwinding with the Hallmark Channel and her favorite period dramas. A faithful member of Wilcrest Baptist Church, she enjoyed attending Bible study, volunteering, and playing games of “Hand and Foot” with her church friends. Above all, she treasured her daily conversations with her sister and her son.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Georgia Merl McLeod Luxardo and Henry Richard Luxardo.

Jeanette leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply: her sister, Roselie Grady; her son, Clayton Duncan; her daughter, Cate Buckalew; her nieces, Sylvia Krzmarzick and Gwen Chapman; her grandson, Grayson Buckalew; her granddaughters, Riley and Reagan Chapman; as well as extended family and dear friends in Louisiana and Texas. Her legacy of love, giving, loyalty, and self sacrifice will continue to live on in each of them.

Serving as pallbearers are Clayton Duncan, Barry Duncan, John Grady, Grayson Buckalew, and John Buckalew.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 401 Texas Avenue, La Marque, Texas. The funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Tim Melton. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
