Carolyn Marie (Antoine) Johnson

Carolyn Marie (Antoine) Johnson of Nassau Bay, Texas and Bonita Springs, Florida passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, after a years long journey with Alzheimer’s and Type 1 Diabetes. She was 79 years old. Carol was the beloved wife of Robert Bernard Johnson for 59 years, cherished mother to Robert (Bobby) Scott Johnson and Laurie Ann Johnson, and devoted “Gramma” to Austin and Alyssa Toperosky.

Born on November 14,1946 in Hingham, Massachusetts Carol was the 2nd of 11 children born to the late Walter and Edna Antoine Jr.

Carol married Bob in 1966 and soon welcomed her two children. She devoted her life to creating a loving home for her family. Memories of outings on the pond swimming and skating, pool parties, blueberry and apple picking, warm apple pies and Christmas mornings are among the ones her children will cherish. She delighted in her grandchildren’s hugs and kisses living just two streets away from them.

Bob and Carol moved to Texas in 1992 for Bob’s career, and then to Florida in 2010 to enjoy the warm winters. They enjoyed traveling visiting Hawaii twice, the Virgin Islands, Canada, an Alaskan cruise and the driving the southwest states and the pacific northwest. Carol enjoyed the beach and was passionate about gardening; when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found taking care of her flowers and butterfly garden.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Edna Antoine, and her son Bobby. She is survived by her husband Bob, her daughter Laurie and son-in-law Dan Toperosky, and her Grandchildren Austin and Alyssa. She is also survived by her 10 brothers and sisters – Marilyn Dunn (Wayne), Philip Antoine, Donald Antoine (Piyaporn), Steven Antoine, Walter Antoine 3rd (Lynne), Roslyn Rock (Roger), Paul Antoine (Deb), Jacquelyn Browne (Robert), Maryellyn Antoine, and David Antoine (Lisa). She was a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday January 5th, 2026 at 1:00pm with a celebration of life ceremony at 2:00pm at the Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main St., League City, TX 77573.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Griswold Home Care, Spectrum Hospice, and Kovoor Assisted Living Home for the care provided to Carol in her last months.

In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Diabetes Association, or the National Diabetes Foundation.
