Rev. Father Virginio Constantino Vázquez Méndez

Our beloved Rev. Father Virginio Constantino Vázquez Méndez was called to eternal rest on December 7, 2025, in Texas City, Texas at the age of 80. He was born on May 21, 1945 in Tlalixtaquilla, Guerrero México to Epifanio Vázquez and Elena Méndez.

Father Vázquez was ordained a Priest on June 10, 1973 in Chilapa, Guerrero México by Bishop Fidel Cortés in the Catedral de la Asunción de María Santísima, in Chilapa Guerrero México. Thereafter, he worked for The Texas Department of Corrections in Huntsville, TX as a Catholic Chaplain for 14 years. Fr. Vázquez also served as a Pastor at Queen of Peace Church in Gaveston, TX. Father Vázquez dedicated his priestly life ministering to his parishioners and anyone else in need, offering comfort, counsel and prayers. He was a beacon of Christ’s love, always ready with a compassionate word and he had a way of making Scripture come to life. We are heartbroken by his loss, but find comfort knowing that he now rests in the peace of The Lord he so faithfully served.
