Victoria Beatriz Chalita

Victoria Beatriz Chalita, 57, passed away on October 2, 2026. She was born on March 31, 1969, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galveston, Texas, to her parents, Florencia and James William Brannan.
Victoria was a seven-year resident of Manvel, Texas, previously of Pearland, Texas. She was a member of Our Lady of the Cedars Church. She worked for 17 years at Texas Eye Institute as a scribe and OA for Dr. Edwin Pitts. Afterward, she became a proud housewife and attentive mother, dedicating herself to caring for her family. Later in life, she worked for Alvin ISD for seven years as a bus driver.
She was preceded in death by her father, James William Brannan, whom she spent her whole life honoring and remembering.
Victoria is survived by her husband, Juan Chalita; her mother, Florencia Brannan; her three children, daughters Monica Arzeghar and Hannah Chalita and son Ramsey Chalita; and her sisters, Veronica Brannan and Elizabeth Redmond.
Our mother was a kind and thoughtful person who could make us laugh and smile no matter the occasion. Her warm embrace and comforting aroma always made the burdens of the world feel like they did not exist. She was the type of mother who made you feel like nothing could hurt you, and that is part of what made her so special to our family.
She was particular about the clothes she wore, the food she enjoyed, and the little things she loved. She had a fondness for knick knacks and trinkets and was rarely without her mini speaker, bringing music with her wherever she went. Music was simply part of who she was and followed her from place to place.
Our mother was silly, sweet, affable, and soft-spoken. She had a childlike and innocent nature that stayed with her throughout her entire life. She was loved by those around her and had a gentleness about her that made people feel comfortable and cared for.
There was something deeply comforting about simply being near her. Even her scent brought a sense of familiarity and peace, and it would linger after she left a room, almost like a small reminder that she had just been there. Her hugs, her voice, her presence, and even those little familiar things made home feel like home. Those are the things our family will miss the most and carry with us always.
There will be a memorial service in honor of Victoria on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., with visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 East Broadway St., Pearland, TX. Father Jim Courville will officiate the service.

I’m still shocked by her loss. Words cannot express my deepest sympathy and condolences to all the family. She was an amazing friend, with a big heart. She will truly be missed by so many people. All my love to all the family.
