With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Doreen Elizabeth Garrity, who entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on October 3, 2026, at the age of 70, after a faithful and courageous battle with cancer.

Doreen was born on September 8, 1956, in the Bronx, New York, to Phyllis and James Edward Dobrindt, Sr. Throughout her life, she called many places home, including Tonawanda, New York; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and several communities throughout Texas. Most recently, she called Bayou Vista, Texas, home. Doreen worshiped at Grace Family Church in Pearland, Texas, where her faith in Jesus Christ remained the most important part of her life.

Doreen was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, creating lasting memories, and sharing her love, kindness, and joy with those around her. She will be remembered for her caring heart, unwavering dedication to her family, and the strength of her Christian faith. Doreen also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, staying active on the pickleball court, and reading a good book.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Phyllis Dobrindt and James Edward Dobrindt, Sr.

Doreen leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 49 years, Michael D. Garrity; her son, Timothy Garrity, and his wife, Brooke; her sister, Patty Willingham, and her husband, Warren; her brother, James Edward Dobrindt, Jr., and his wife, Sue; and her treasured grandchildren, Abbey, Hailey, and Corbin Garrity. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by her love and friendship.

Though her family deeply mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing that she is in the presence of the Almighty and will dwell with Him for eternity. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
