Virginia Lee Townsend, 92, long-time resident of Dickinson, Texas, passed away on October 4, 2026. She was born on September 20, 1934 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to parents, Herman Murray and Ova Lee Martin.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Bacliff, Texas.

Virginia was a homemaker and babysitter for her grandchildren.

She loved traveling, music and family get-togethers. She deeply loved her family and will be forever missed. She had many friends and loved them all.

She married her loving husband on January 20, 1955.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman Murray and Ova Lee Martin; husband, Archie Townsend, Jr.; daughter, Amy Townsend; brothers, Roy Culver, Jr. and Doug Culver and sisters, Kathleen Walden and Louise Long.

She is survived by her son, Mark Townsend and wife, Dodie; daughter, Joy Townsend, and son-in-law, Jimmy Corn; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Cooper and husband, Wayne; brother-in-law, Riley Townsend; grandchildren, Bryon Townsend and wife, Kelley, Whitney Rainey and husband, Travis, Sarah Tidwell and husband, Jeff and Kara Woods and husband, Eric; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on October 8, 2026 at 11:00am at Dickinson Cemetery, 4617 State Highway 3, Dickinson, Texas.
