Henry John Seiter, Sr. peacefully passed from this life Monday evening, September 28, 2026 at his home in Pearland, Texas.

Born January 18, 1930 in Galveston, Texas, Mr. Seiter was happily raised and educated in Galveston. Earlier in his life, Henry worked in Galveston in a variety of occupations which included shoe shining, paper delivery, landscaping, general carpentry, roofing, plumbing and electrician work, dairy products delivery, ice handler, security guard, oil field work, and rail road engineering.

However, his primary career was forged during his more than two decades of service at the Monsanto Chemical Plant in Texas City, Texas. Serving as a Senior Pumper Gauger, he was responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining fluid pumping systems and storage tanks before advancing to Operations Supervisor.

Henry immensely enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and sports. He was an avid and accomplished hunter and participated in many adventurous hunts throughout Texas, Colorado, and Wyoming. As a young man he enjoyed all sports including boxing and softball; but his truest sports love was baseball, a sport in which he excelled to the point of being scouted by the Detroit Tigers organization and offered a minor league contract.

In his later years, he enjoyed regaling family with his many stories of life and the plethora of adventures and experiences he witnessed throughout his years.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mary (Cook) Seiter; wife, Darlene Seiter; son, Henry J. Seiter, Jr; stepdaughter, Claudia Richardson (Seiter); sisters, Margaret Mary Berger, Jennie Lee Rogers, Lillian Taggart, Christina Seigler; brothers, Herman Seiter, Fred Seiter, William Seiter; daughter-in-law Janet Seiter.

Survivors include his two sons, Fred Seiter, Larry Seiter; daughters-in-law, Marjorie H. Seiter, Karen Seiter; son-in-law, Melvin Richardson; grandchildren, Christopher Seiter, Timothy Seiter, Israel Seiter, Stephen Seiter, Joshua Seiter; and 6 great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include Paulette Hurst, Sharon Shimek, Darlene Perryman along with numerous other very meaningful and loving family relatives and friends.

Arrangements are currently underway for cremation, and additional information will be forthcoming regarding a planned Celebration of Life service for close family and friends.
