Andrea “Andy” Reyna Bozeman

December 15, 1965 ~ September 8, 2026

Andrea “Andy” Reyna Bozeman passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Texas City, Texas, on December 15, 1965, to Billy Don Selman and Patricia O’Meara Selman. She grew up in the La Marque, Texas, area and attended school there.

From a very young age, Andrea had a remarkable love and talent for music. As a teenager, she attended the College of the Mainland before choosing to follow her passion for music and become a member of a country music band. What began as a young girl’s love of music became an important chapter of her life that lasted approximately 15 years.

Andrea was largely self-taught and seemed able to learn to play virtually any instrument she could get her hands on. Music came naturally to her, and she devoted herself to developing her talents. During her years with the band, they traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, where they participated in a music contest. Andrea also had the opportunity to appear on a PBS program.

After graduating from high school, Andrea worked for a short time at the University Of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). Eventually, after approximately 15 years together, the members of the band began pursuing different careers and paths in life. Andrea went on to work as a dispatcher for several transportation companies. Later, when her parents retired and decided to relocate to East Texas, Andrea wanted to make the move with them. She became an important part of helping her parents with their property and was always willing to lend a hand wherever she was needed.

After settling in Hemphill, Texas, Andrea became part of the Hemphill Independent School District family. She worked as a custodian throughout the school system and continued working there until her cancer diagnosis forced her to leave the job she had faithfully performed.

Andrea’s life had many chapters, but throughout them ran the same qualities: her independence, determination, talent, and devotion to the people she loved. From the young musician who followed her dream all the way to Nashville, to the daughter who moved to East Texas to be near and help her parents, Andrea lived life in her own way.

Andrea is survived by her mother, Patricia O’Meara Selman; her aunt Pamela Pixley, who was her primary caregiver; her uncle Daniel O’Meara Sr. and Terri; her aunt Vickie O’Meara; her nephews, James Stephen Schultz, Billy Don Selman III, and Joshua Selman; her beloved dog, Treble; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Don Selman; her sister, Linda Karen Selman-Schultz; her brother, Billy Don Selman Jr.; her uncle, James Richard O’Meara Jr.; and her grandparents, Jimmy and Bernice O’Meara. Andrea will be remembered for far more than the places she worked or the challenges she faced.

She will be remembered for her music, her determination, her love for her family, and the many years of memories she leaves behind. The music may grow quiet, but the love and memories Andrea gave to those who knew her will remain.

A visitation will be on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.  Funeral Service will be at 10:00am on Saturday, September 12, 2026 with Rex Teter officiating at the Crowder Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Daniel A. O’Meara, Sr., Daniel A. O’Meara, Jr., Nathan Pixley and Jamie Selman.
