Joan “Jo” Huber Kerr, 91, native of Toledo, Ohio and resident of LaPorte, TX, passed peacefully to be with our Lord, at home surrounded by loved ones, on August 22, 2026. Services will be held at Crowder Funeral Home in League City, TX on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Visitation is at 9:00 AM, followed by a service at 10:00 AM, with burial to follow at Forest Park East Cemetary in Webster, TX.  Jo is survived by her loving children, John  “Johnny” (Page), James “Jimmy”, Jason (Kelly), Cindy Hardage (Bill), Pam Fairley (Ronnie) and June “Junie” Champagne; grandchildren, Chris, KC (Thomas), Ashlee (Amanda), Marylane (Matt), Steven, Carrie (Heath),Casey (Mark), Sarah, Kayla, Brody and Diego; great grandchildren, Cade (Cam), KD Jane, Marlee, Mia, Isla, Hutton, Daniel, Gemma, Greysen, and Ilsa; great-great grandchildren, Delilah; sister, Karen Flohr. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, High “Bill” Williamson Kerr; son, Michael “Mike” Kerr; son-in-law, Craig Champagne; parents, John Lavern Huber and Alice McEnroe Huber; sisters, Marilyn Hopkins, Colleen Haynes, Sharon Ingram and Colleen Alice Huber; brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Huber.

From her earliest years, Jo had a remarkable heart for serving others. She grew up in an orphanage in Ohio, where after high school she began working in a nursing home.  She then felt the calling to join the WAF (Women in the Air Force). Shortly thereafter, she was transferred to Lackland AFB located in Texas. This is where she worked in the military hospital and met the love of her life, Bill. Together, they raised seven children while moving to and from several AF bases throughout the country. Eventually they settled in the Seabrook, TX area, where she continued being a homemaker.  “Grandma Jo” known affectionately by her grandchildren, spent most of her adult life caring for others. From hospital care to her bundle of children with true love, to joyfully working at church daycares for decades. She was truly the most humble, kind, and selfless person and we were immensely grateful/blessed for her! Her family was her pride and joy, and we will forever cherish the gift of being loved by her. If you knew Jo, you know she loved her soap operas, Texas Walker Ranger and a good trip to the casino. She will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
