Joyce Ruth Sabat, 80, of League City, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, in Clear Lake.

Joyce was born on July 7, 1946, in Camden, New Jersey, to Joseph and Francis Osinski. On October 16, 1971, she married Donald Sabat at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Rockville, Maryland. Together, they built a family that remained at the center of her life.

Joyce worked as a laboratory technician before devoting much of her life to being a homemaker and raising her family. She had an outgoing, strong personality and a way of making an impression on nearly everyone she met. She loved her family deeply and valued laughter, loyalty, long conversations, and the people who stayed close through every chapter of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sabat, and her brother, John Osinski.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Christopher, Timothy, and Jeremy Sabat; her stepchildren, Laura Johansson, Jeff Sabat, and Julie Martin; and her grandchildren, Hero, Nova, Parker, and Macon Sabat. She is also remembered by her step-grandchildren, Niklas Johansson, Meghan Johansson, Christina Sabat, and Lauren Martin; her niece and nephew, Heather and Brian Osinski; and her extended family.

Joyce also leaves behind a remarkable group of lifelong friends who became family: Betty Ann Davies, Linda Bordeau, Diana Clark, Natalie Sitek, Linda Garner, Jere Syfert, Anne Churchill, Jackie Setter, Jaimie Bradley and many more. They may not have been her sisters by blood, but they could not have been closer if they were.

Joyce leaves behind a lifetime of stories, memories, laughter, and people whose lives are different because she was part of them. She was loved by her children, grandchildren, stepchildren, extended family, and the extraordinary circle of friends who remained close to her throughout her life.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 1pm with a memorial service celebrating Joyce’s life at 2pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main Street, League City, Texas 77573.  A reception to follow after the service.
