Earl Paul Schexnailder, Jr., of League City, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at his home in League City, Texas at the age of 82. Paul was born on September 24, 1943 in Morgan City, Louisiana to Earl and Alice Schexnailder.

Paul was married to Kathy Covington Schexnailder for 60 years. They met in high school when they were 14 and 16 years old.

Paul had many interests. He taught Sunday School for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the outdoors. He loved the water as well as golf and nature walks. But most of all, he loved his family and faith in God.

Paul was in the oil and gas business and drilled over 3000 oil wells for many major oil companies. He was the man responsible for working with the company that at the time had the largest bankruptcy in the history of our Country. He drilled wells on their property to assist them in getting out of bankruptcy.

At a young age of 30 years old, Paul was the General Manager of a joint venture between Brown and Root and Williams and Sedco. The project was to build a pipeline for the Peruvian Government at a cost of 270 million dollars. In the early 1970’s, it was a major accomplishment because the pipeline traversed through the dessert, swamp and mountains.

Later in life Paul and his partner purchased over 1500 acres in Corpus Christi, Texas. They developed the land out on the island for over 20 years. He later retired and moved to League City, Texas.

Paul was preceded in death by his mother and father Earl Paul Schexnailder, Sr. and Alice Mae Bean.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Schexnailder, daughters Suzanne Trumble, Elizabeth Huffman and husband Aaron, grandchildren Seth Huffman, Caroline Huffman, Molly Trumble, Cooper Trumble and many loving family and friends.

A Graveside Ceremony will be held for family on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 10:00am at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598 with Pastor Dr. Regan Miller presiding.
