Thekla Adam, 85, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on July 8, 2026. She was born on February 6, 1941, in Burkardroth, Germany, to Adolf Wehner and Mechtilde Kirchner.  She immigrated to Rochester, New York, in 1961 and married Jerry Adam in 1962, beginning a beautiful marriage of 55 years.  In 1977, Jerry and Thekla moved their family to Texas, where she made her home for the remainder of her life, and became a U.S. citizen in 1995.

Thekla was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be remembered for her unwavering love of her family and friends.  She welcomed and opened her home to many and was known for her gracious hospitality.  She was a devoted Catholic with a deep love of Jesus.  She attended daily Mass and was very devoted to praying the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.  Thekla was a faithful parishioner of Mary Queen Catholic Church in Friendswood, Texas, for the last six years.  Previously, she resided in Nassau Bay for 30 years, where she was a faithful and active member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

Thekla is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward “Jerry” Adam; parents, Adolf and Mechtilde Wehner; three siblings: Rita Geist, Maria Stroehlein, and Herman Wehner.

She is survived by her three children: Don Adam (Becky), Connie Foley (Mike) and Nicole Hilliard (Marc); nine grandchildren: Katelyn Bland (Arturo), Haley Nelson (John), Garrett Adam (Emma), Jace Foley, Hayden Foley (Kelsey), Austin Spain, Jaden Hilliard, Conner Hilliard, and Harrison Hilliard;  eight great grandchildren: Francesca Bland, Sebastian Bland, Noah Nelson, Elise Nelson, Benjamin Adam, Owen Ostrup, Nash Ostrup, and Piper McCreery; her sister, Brigitte Radi (Mathias); as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation at Mary Queen Catholic Church on Tuesday July 14, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546.

Pallbearers serving will be Austin Spain, Jace Foley, Hayden Foley, Garrett Adam, Jaden Hilliard, Conner Hilliard, and Harrison Hilliard.
