Norman Eugene Snipe, Sr.
Norman Eugene Snipe Sr., 72, of Santa Fe, Texas, passed away on May 18, 2026, just days before his 73rd birthday. He was born May 30, 1953, in Ruston, Louisana.
Norman was a longtime resident of Santa Fe and a man known for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and ability to fix just about anything. He retired from Texas Parks and Wildlife, where he proudly served as a park ranger and later as Maintenance Manager of the Battleship Texas. The ship held a special place in his heart, and he took great pride in the work he devoted to preserving it. A talented welder and lifelong craftsman, Norman loved working on cars and building things with his hands. If something was broken, chances are he could repair it. He worked hard his entire life out of love and dedication to his family.
Those who knew him will always remember one of his favorite sayings: “I’m just a poor man trying to make an honest living without stealing…” He truly was one of a kind.
Norman is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Delores “Lori” Snipe; his children, Norman Snipe Jr., Mandy Hickman, and Donna Palmer; his grandchildren, Heaven, Elijah, Sarah, and Kylie; and his great-grandchildren, Heavenly and Julia.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
