James (Jim) Dennis Barry
James (Jim) Dennis Barry, 82, resident of League City, Texas, passed from this life surrounded by his loved ones in his home, May 10, 2026. He was born on May 18, 1943, to parents Edward and Kathleen Barry in Brooklyn, New York. James was one of five brothers.
Jim was a passionate man who gave his all to everything he participated in. Whether it is was family, youth sports, creating and maintaining a business, or community involvement. Jim maintained strong relationships with those he held close. He lived by the mantra that there is no right way to do the wrong thing, instilling that into those around him. His passionate nature left a lasting memory for those that he interacted with.
Founder of Doctor Cool and Professor Heat Air conditioning. Member of Dickinson Rotary Club for 30 years, holding many board positions including past president. He was a member of Texas Air Conditioning Contractors Association and Air Conditioning Contractors of America serving on the boards in several positions. Jim also served on the Lee College advisory board for their HVAC program for many years.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Catherine Barry; brothers, Kevin Barry, John Barry, Steven Barry; sisters-in-law, Barbara Parrish, Teresann Barry; brothers-in-law, Harry O’Connell, Fred Parrish.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, children, Lorraine Weston (Joe), James Barry (Shalli), Douglas Barry (Heather Neeley); Lisa Stuart (Rob); brother, Timothy Barry; grandchildren, Jeffrey Otten; Caitlin Whitley (Ray); Kiley Madden (Jerrod); Maggie Barry, Devon Weston (Brenna), Brian DiAmbrosio (Caitlin), Lauren DiAmbrosio, Catherine Callahan; great-grandchildren, Elinor, James, Gray, Cason, Cole, Clay, Brynn, Olivia, Lilly; his partner Cathy Havlin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, and colleagues.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge Chantelle, Donna, Lindsey, and Lori for the care and guidance they provided.
In his honor a visitation will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, from 5:00-6:00pm with a rosary at 6:00pm followed by a funeral service on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 1:00pm in the Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas. Internment following at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Dickinson, Texas.
