Kim DeYoung
Kim DeYoung, 69, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026. He was born on December 19, 1956, in Hamshire, Texas, and was a longtime resident of League City, Texas.
Kim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda DeYoung; his children and their spouses, Stacy Lowe and Glenn Pitts, Wesley and Crystal DeYoung, Casey and Jennifer DeYoung, and Danielle and Kelby Worthy; and his beloved grandchildren, Camryn Lowe, Wesley DeYoung, Cash Johnson, Kade Worthy, and Kole Worthy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter DeYoung and Dorothy DeYoung, and his brothers, Wayne DeYoung and Wade DeYoung.
Kim had a deep love for the outdoors and adventure. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, boating, fishing, camping, trail riding side-by-sides, mud trucks, hog hunting, and collecting guns. In recent years, he found great enjoyment in his newest hobbies — RC cars and RC boats. One of his favorite things to do was simply going out to eat and spending quality time with the people he loved most. He also dearly loved his dogs, Whiskey and River, who were faithful companions and brought him great joy.
Known for his caring and generous heart, Kim was always willing to help others and made everyone around him feel welcomed and loved. He also loved giving people a hard time and was always quick with a joke, playful teasing, or a laugh that made every gathering more memorable. Above all else, he treasured his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.
Kim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the memories shared with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life honoring Kim will be held on May 30, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Palapa at Top Water Grill. Family and friends are invited to come together to share memories, laughter, and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kim’s memory to The Stroke Foundation at https://www.thestrokefoundation.org/.
