Gabriel Villarruel, 59, of Dickinson, Texas, passed away on March 26, 2026. He was born in Mexico on October 27, 1966, to Elias Villarruel and Venancia Armendariz. Gabriel worked as a self-employed contractor and had proudly made Dickinson his home for the past eight years.

Gabriel was a man of quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and deep love for his family. He worked hard throughout his life to provide and care for those he loved, always putting his family above all else. He found peace in fishing, where he could slow down and enjoy the simple beauty of life.

Above everything, Gabriel’s greatest joy was his grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and nothing brought him more happiness than being with them, hearing their laughter, and creating memories that will now be cherished forever.

He is preceded in death by his father, Elias Villarruel; his brothers, Juan Villarruel Mondragón and Andrés Villarruel Mondragón; and his sisters, Graciela Villarruel Mondragón and Guadalupe Villarruel Mondragón.

He is survived by his loving mother, Venancia Armendariz; his daughter, Wendy Villarruel; his son, Abraham Villarruel; his siblings, Arturo Villarruel Armendáriz, Eduardo Villarruel Armendáriz, Jose Antonio Villarruel Armendáriz, Angélica Villarruel Armendáriz, Alejandro Villarruel Mondragón, Jorge Alberto Villarruel Mondragón, Luis Villarruel Mondragón, and Carmela Villarruel Mondragón; and his beloved grandchildren, Natalie Cruz and Damian Sotelo. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him more than words can express.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on April 10, 2026, at Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 E. Broadway St, Pearland, Texas 77581.

Gabriel will be deeply missed, though he may no longer be with us, his love will continue to guide and live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
