Alfred Hernandez
Alfred Hernandez entered fully into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was 96 years-old. Alfred, or lovingly known as Al, Popo, or Dad, was born August 7, 1929 in Tivoli, Texas. He was raised by a single mother, Carolina Hernandez along with his only sibling Amelia De Leon. Alfred was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He was a sports and animal lover.
Alfred retired from Chicago Title Company as an abstractor. After he retired, he began buying homes, renting or flipping them. He was quite the handyman, fixing most of the houses himself. He was a member of the St. Christopher’s Catholic Church for over 40 years.
Alfred is survived by his son John Hernandez and wife Carrie and Ralph’s widow Lupe. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 77 years Dolores Hernandez, two sons Alfred M. Hernandez and Ralph Hernandez. He has seven grandchildren. Popo is proceeded in death by his oldest grandson Ralph Hernandez Jr., and survived by, with hearts filled with blessed memories of our beloved Popo, Felicia Trigo and husband Robert, Paul Hernandez, Denitra Richardson and husband Abdul, Dominic Hernandez, Bernadette Hernandez, and John Hernandez Jr. He leaves loving memories with his 6 great granddaughters and 5 great grandsons. Popo also had 3 great-great grandsons and 1 great-great granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister’s only child Rose Marie Garcia and husband John Garcia. He will be greatly missed by all his family.
His family will receive visitors on Friday February 13th at 6:00 pm followed by a rosary at 7:00 pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 14 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock. His entombment ceremony will be to Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson immediately following mass on Saturday February 14.

My condolences to his family John and Carrie, Felicia and family members. I met Alfred and Dolores when they were late twenty’s. They were a good family. I was there’s babysitter for the boys. They used to take me Galveston, that’s where her parents lived. Met the whole family. Thank you Felicia, for helping to take care your parents. Your grandma always talk about you.
