Melissa Cook Curatola

Melissa Cook Curatola, of League City, TX, passed away on January 13, 2026 at the age of 62. She was born on June 18, 1963, in Princeton, New Jersey, to Harry and Alice Cook.

Her primary interests were caring for her family and pets. She loved cooking, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and enjoyed keeping Christ in Christmas. She enjoyed traveling, particularly cruises, and dining out with her husband and family. She was a nurse’s aide and, most recently, a lead cashier at Bass Pro Shops. Her favorite hobby was keeping in touch with all the people she cared about, including not only family but friends and even her children’s friends. She absolutely loved watching General Hospital with her beloved pets.

Preceded in death by her parents, Alice May (Danbury) Cook and Harry Monroe Cook Sr.

Survived by her husband, Bruce James Curatola; her sons, Douglas James Curatola, Gregory Michael Curatola, and Ryan David Curatola; and her brother, Jeffrey Cook.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 6:00pm, with a Vigil Service at 6:30pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main, League City, Texas 77573. Her Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Expectation Catholic Church, 1612 East Walker, League City, Texas, with Father John Rooney presiding.

Interment will take place at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7801 Gulf Fwy, Dickinson, TX 77539, on Friday at 11:30am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 /http://www.stjude.org/donate / (800) 213-6584. Please designate the gift in memory of Melissa Cook Curatola.
