Gary Del Grove

Gary Del Grove, 70, passed away at UTMB in Galveston, Texas, on December 3, 2025. He was born May 22, 1955, in Galveston, Texas, where he grew up and lived until he graduated from Ball High School in 1973. He spent most of his adult life at Camp Creek Lake in Robertson County near Franklin, Texas, and Santa Fe, Texas. His parents were Don Grove, Jr. and Jackie Kozlek Grove.

He was married to Patricia Bouquet (formerly Flaniken) in February of 1974, and had one daughter, Megan Grove, before their divorce. He worked for Nexco as a longshoreman before his professional career ended on September 14, 2000, due to an offshore accident in which he sustained permanent injuries. He spent his remaining years working on Harley Davidson motorcycles, fishing, and helping family and friends with various projects.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Grove III. He is survived by his daughter of Santa Fe, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Judy Grove of Bayou Vista, Texas; sister-in-law Linda Grove of North Zulch, Texas; grandchildren, Austin, Reagan, Cannen and Kynan Gaona; nieces, Christy Sinclair, Juliet Dawson and husband Wade, Dawn Grove, and Carrie Jones and husband Lee; nephew, Mickey Grove, Jr.; cousin, Terry Noack and husband Mike; and numerous other cousins, extended family and close friends (including the furry, four-legged kind).

A memorial service will be held on January 10, 2026, at 1:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Arcadia First Baptist Church, 14828 Hwy. 6, Santa Fe, TX 77517. The final resting places of his cremated remains will be next to his mother and father at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas, and his favorite fishing spot at Camp Creek Lake.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Bates, Cannen Gaona, Kynan Gaona, Mickey Grove,Jr., Dylan Grove, Tommy Hansen, Trey Hansen, Lee Jones, Mike Noack, and Dean Tucker.

We are grateful for the medical care provided by UTMB and Hospice Care Team in his final days, home support provided by Tisha Tucker, and cremation services by James Crowder Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the Santa Fe Ten Memorial Foundation (https://www.sftenmemorial.org/) or Animal Alliance of Galveston County (https://www.animalalliancetx.org/).

Arrangements are under the direction of the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.
