Ralph Chauvin
Ralph Chauvin passed away in Houston at the age of 90. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, he will be warmly remembered and greatly missed by those who knew him.
Ralph was born in Houma, Louisiana, in 1935 to Lowell and Lydie Chauvin. He grew up in Houma and attended Saint Francis DeSales schools which at that time were administered by the Sacred Heart Brothers. One of his teachers, Brother Kasmir, became a huge influence throughout his life. In 1954, upon high school graduation, Ralph was awarded the first Bishop Schexnayder Award for all-around athletics and scholarship.
After high school, Ralph attended Nicholls College in Tihbodaux before transferring to Louisiana State University where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and later an MBA. It was during this time at LSU that he met his future wife Jacqui.
Ralph joined the Boeing company in Seattle. The company later moved him and his family to the Clear Lake area to join the Apollo program.
During the years after the Apollo moon landings, when there were many layoffs in the space program, Ralph courageously re-invented himself and became a Certified Public Accountant, working for a CPA firm for three years, then becoming a controller for 10 years for the Tex-a-Mation Engineering Company in La Porte. In 1989, he found his way back to Boeing/McDonald-Douglas, where he worked until retirement.
Ralph was known for his honesty, dedication and meticulous attention to accuracy in all that he did, whether work or hobby. He loved spending time with family. Ralph was also a long-time member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houston.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jacqui, and three children: Todd, Mark, and Cathy, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren
We will miss you, Grampa. God bless you on your journey to Heaven.

Receive his soul and present him to God Most High. Love and prayers from your family in Houma, LA
So sorry for your loss. I will always remember the sparkle in Uncle Lowell’s eyes when he would talk about him to us when we were little, he was so very proud of his wonderful son.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Prayers being said for all of you!!!
